Tasting Tour of "Frisco"

My Greek grandfather, Papouli, ran a small produce truck in Hollywood in the 1940's and 50's. He was a professional at choosing fruits and vegetables and told me the best place to get certain "exotic" foods was Frisco. That's right, not San Francisco, but just "Frisco." Oven-Baked, not fried, Chicken

Super easy. Delicious. My healthy version of the traditional BBQ chicken baked right in your oven. I’ve made this recipe since my children were little and they love it with fries or even over rice. Try this next time for your new chicken dish! 1 cup tomato juice 1 / 3 cup apple cider vinegar 1 ½ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard 2 Tablespoon lemon juice 2 Tablespoon brown sugar 2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce ½ cup ketchup 1 large yellow sweet onion, sliced 6 large garlic cloves, minced 2 bay leaves 8 skinless chicken breasts, or chicken thighs black pepper to taste Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a bowl combine all sauce ingredients (tomato juice through Worcestershire sauce). Whisk well. In a large pan, place sliced onion, garlic and bay leaves to cover pan.  Place chicken on top in one layer. Add salt and pepper to taste.
